After obtaining his Master’s degree in Conducting at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, Switzerland, where he is currently Head of Orchestras and Ensembles and chamber music teacher, he started a freelance career mostly but not only in the field of modern and contemporary music.

He has worked with the Sinfonieorchester Basel, the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana, the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, the Orchestra Toscanini, and since 2012 he has a close relationship with the Orchestra Verdi in Milan where he is a frequent guest.
He has worked as assistant conductor for Ivan Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra at home and on tour, and conducted the BFO’s musicians in a series of contemporary music concert at Spoleto’s Festival dei due Mondi.


In January 2019 he has lead the Ensemble Resonanz in two concerts at the Philharmonie in Berlin and at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, performing alongside jazz singer Stacey Kent.
He has also led numerous operatic, theatrical, dance and multimedia productions, with music by Giorgio Battistelli, Arvo Pärt, and Bruno Maderna, among others.
He has worked in close touch with composers such as Sir Harrison Birtwistle, Helmut Lachenmann, Heiner Goebbels, John Luther Adams, Morton Subotnick and Ivan Fedele, premiering some of their works for festivals such as Biennale di Venezia, Klangspuren Schwaz and Transart in Bolzano. He has worked as assistant conductor for Peter Rundel at the orchestra of the Academy of La Scala in Milan.


In 2014 he was selected to take part to the first Gstaad Conducting Academy where he had the opportunity to study with Neeme Järvi and Gennady Rozhdestvensky.
Since its foundation in 2007 he is a core member of Spira mirabilis, a collective of musicians with which he has performed in some of Europe’s finest halls.
